Antique Tea Pot - Japanese Vintage Teapot - Hand Painted Damaged - Porcelain Tea.
Beautiful example of Japanese Pottery. Generously Decorated Teapot.
Featuring sprays of wildflowers and blue reaching, raised swirls. This teapot cries out old-world charm!
Mark: "K", "Hand painted Japan", ( unknown ) K could possible stand for Kyoto. Tentative date: 1920-40 Source: http://gotheborg.com/marks/index_jap_marks.htm The lid is showing a tight hairline, it doesn't go right through to the other side and is completely unseen as the pot sits with lid on or off, check photo 4. Other than this minor fault the pot shows clean crazing commensurate with age and no other chips or cracks.
While every effort is made to research the backstamps of all my china pieces, I am not an expert and often rely on my encyclopedia of British pottery marks, or the many online resources for tracking down dates of manufacture. I also try to slip in a shot of the backstamps, so the buyer can verify, or research the item themselves.
